PPP: Thoughts about a creative CV

I hadn't really given much thought to a creative CV before John and Patrick mentioned it in their sessions, I get how having something more than an old regular cv makes you jump out.
Last year when I ran for editorial I made a lot of promo material, most of which *could* be repurposed into my creative CV.  I made Postcards and i think that's probably the way forward for me, that or making hotdog books to send to future employers.

I think a postcard is good because it gives a snippet into what you can make, plus you can make multiple postcards and send them to the person every week until they have all 6 editions. They're abit more permanent than a business card, when i look at the ones I have tacked up on my wall, theyre all telling a story of some sort, they all have a narrative that makes me want to put it on my wall and stare at it.
I made a little statement as to what to put on the back of the postcard, it now also coincidentally sits on my portfolio site just because I think its a nice little statement. I like the idea also of having a manifesto for my work, but do you have to be a collective to do that?? maybe.

this statement is as follows:

Wadespace is a 22 year old illustrator based in Leeds, with a desire to draw and a passion for a good narrative. Her work ranges from ink, lino, collage and digital but the main focus is creating an atmosphere and narrative for any piece that is contributed too.  A creative thinker who can think outside, underneath and every corner of the box.

I chose to use my illustrator name as opposed to my actual name because writing Katie Wade is a .... felt really weird and it just didn't look right. Just above this statement is a picture that I have just made for my presentation but im thinking of making a more circular version to put on my postcard (like above). The only reason im not using the above image again is because I don't feel like it reflects my practice anymore, I wasn't doing as much character design last year but this year I am so I should be able to present myself as a character rather than a basic outline of my face.

There is two versions of this little drawing, one with the 'and garlic bread connoisseur' at the bottom and one without. The version with is probably going on business cards (maybe) just because its a little bit of humour and you'd be surprised how many people I have bonded with over a love of garlic bread. The second version without just has 'wadespace illustrator creative mind storyteller" at the bottom and this would most likely go on the back of the creative cv because it's representing who i am but on a more serious level. I don't want to go round telling my future employers that I love garlic bread before theyve met me in person, it might send off the wrong vibes.

The choice to use red is because it's my power colour. I tried to use a pinkier red just because actual red hurts peoples eyes, they dont wanna stare at it too long. But the colour choice is one that represents me as well (I own many red items).
Although I have earlier said that LOBSTER is my font of choice, I chose hand written type for this just because (again) it gives it a more personal touch.
