PPP: Imagine FX Magazine, to subscribe or not to subscribe.. that my friends is the question

So as I have mentioned before, discovering Peter De Seve was a key point in my illustrative practice this year purely because his practice in both character design and editorial is inspirational to me. But I only glazed over how I discovered him, Teresa had lent me a copy of Imagine FX, something that before now i've never touched let alone read.
In the past I've collected artsy magazine but I've never really ever gone near a magazine that has tutorials in, mostly because I thought that it influenced you to draw a certain way and no offence to the manga artists out there but I really am not a manga illustrator kinda gal (I love reading it but drawing it is a nightmare) so until Teresa handed me a copy to take home and read I'd never explored into it.

My opinion has been revised since borrowing it, I actually found it a really helpful medium to discover new artists (such as peter de seve) but also to keep up to date with how to use photoshop in a more sophisticated way (to make items look like they glow for example as opposed to just using a light colour). It didn't feel like I was reading something that was telling me how to draw, it felt like I was reading a helpful tip manual.
After borrowing that magazine I had a look on the website to see if any previous Imagine FX's looked useful and found quite a few (but also some I didn't have much interest in). Rather than subscribing I decided instead to just buy the ones that I liked the look of and receive a discount for buying those.
Although I'm not 100% a digital artist, I do enjoy digital art and I'd like to be able to make more convincing art digitally too.
