STUDY TASK 4 - Part 4

Publication

Comic Book - This is relevant to my creative practice as I'm interested in character development and comic books give a medium to develop new characters as well as progress existing ones. A comic book series can also be interpreted by nmore than one artist, so its interesting to see what other illustrators do when they are given the challenge of recreating a famous hero. It also teaches how to story board and keep illustrations within a frame which is something I want to achieve (although not particularly for comic book making purposes).

Product

Bags (merchandise)

This is something that I'm interested in doing, transferring illustration to bags (or merchandise such as tops, underwear etc).
Its relevant to my creative interests because I want to experiment with doing this and be able to apply my illustrations to wearable or useable things.

Place

museum (art or otherwise)

This is relevant to my practice because I really enjoy the architecture of museums both old and new. I think it both inspires illustration and is inspired by illustration. Its important to visit places that are beautiful and hold beautiful things inside them to develop as a creative person. As well as this illustration advertising for such places is equally as intriguing.

Doesn't the sound of that just make you want to be a kid again?!The London Transport Museum, which hosts one of the world's most important collections of graphic art, asked illustrators to draw the links between cycling in the capital, environment issues, health and fun

Online

Drawnandquartely.com

This online website is relevant to my interests as it takes submissions from illustrators and is widely connected (instagram, facebook, twitter etc). It shows comic books, graphic novels and cartooning which are all things that interest me as a illustrator although it is not my personal style I like to draw inspiration from what the current trends are in graphic novels today.
